OFK to develop modern anti-tank ammunition

“The indigenous anti-tank ammunition will strengthen the armed forces to destroy 550mm steel plate of Abrams tank being available in Pakistan,” informed Arvind Kumar Agarwal, Senior General Manager,Ordnance Factory Khamaria 
 
“Ordnance Factory Khamaria will develop state-of-the-art anti-tank ammunition to penetrate 550mm tank’s steel plate. The ammunition is being indigenously developed in association with 6-7 other Ordnance Factories and its final assembling will be held at OFK. The indigenous anti-tank ammunition will strengthen the armed forces to destroy 550mm steel plate of Abrams tank being available in Pakistan,” informed Arvind Kumar Agarwal, Senior General Manager, Ordnance Factory Khamaria. OFK, Senior GM, A K Agarwal was interacting with media on the sidelines of Ammunitions Exhibition being organised to mark the 218th Ordnance Factory Day.
 
He informed that, OFK is paying special focus on research and development works for improving the quality and quantity of ammunition being supplied to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Continuing the research and development projects, OFK will soon start production of 84 mm anti-tank ammunition in collaboration with Sweden. Around 20,000 ammunition, including 10,000 Smoke and 10,000 751 HEAT will be produced in first phase of the project. Senior GM, Agrawal informed that they have successfully modified the production of multimode hand grenade by improving its explosion time with new electronic circuit. Production of multimode hand grenade will be soon started to strengthen the armed forces. A K Agarwal informed that, OFK has completed production of around Rs 1,500 crore of its annual production target of around Rs 2,000 crore.
