Shakeel Patel from AIMIM files first nomination for Lok Sabha election

First nomination for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election was filed at Nagpur parliamentary constituency on very first day of starting of nominations. Shakeel Patel submitted his nomination paper from All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) that has tied-up with Prakash Ambedkar's to form Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. However as Ambedkar's party has till date not officially announced any candidate from Nagpur seat, its still not clear if Patel has got backing from the front. He was earlier heading Nagpur unit of AIMIM and is Working President of city unit of Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh. Patel was associated with various institutions and organisations and has been at forefront of public agitations during last 20-years of social life. During filing of nomination Patel was accompanied with Wasim Sheikh, Adv. Ejajul Halim, Pyare Khan, Sharad Wankhede, Milind Pakhale, Ashish Jain, Suresh Atram, Ataullah Khan, Arif Humanyu and others.
Election Observers appointed for Nagpur, Ramtek Election Commission of India has appointed Election Observers for two parliamentary seats in Nagpur District. For Nagpur seat, Vinod Kumar, 2005 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, will oversee the election process. He is currently posted at Surat as Additional Commissioner (Income Tax). During the course of election campaign the Election Observer will be camping at cottage 7 of Ravi Bhawan, informs a release issued here. For the Ramtek seat, J Pavitrakumar, IRS Officer of 2008 batch, is nominated by ECI. He is currently functioning as Joint Commissioner, Income Tax, at Tiruchirapalli. He will be available at cottage no. 4 of Ravi Bhawan.
