Fire breaks out in auditorium of State Assembly

A major fire broke out in one of the auditoriums of the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday. Although no injuries were reported in the incident but it exposed the fire safety arrangements in one of the State’s most safe buildings. Sajid Khan, an official of the Fire Department, said that a call informing about the blaze was received at 11:15 am and four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused quickly by 12 pm.
 
Kamlesh Singh, Security Officer in Vidhan Sabha, said that, the fire broke out at in the morning when the staff was on duty in the auditorium number 7 of the Vidhan Sabha at around 11 am. However, on being informed four fire tenders from Pul Bogda were rushed to the area and it hardly took them an hour to douse the flames that had gripped a part of the auditorium along with the walls. The loss of documents or any other major loss was not reported from the site. The fire is said to have been triggered by the wires in the arena had a short circuit. Soon after getting information about incident, Speaker of Assembly Narmada Prasad Prajapati also reached Vidhan Sabha.
