JEE-Main exam rescheduled due to LS polls

Concerned over the Lok Sabha election dates, National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the JEE-Mains exam. As per new schedule, JEE-Mains B Arch and B Planning examination will be held on April 7. BE and BTech examination will be held from April 8 to 12. Earlier exam was schedule from April 7 to 20. Students can check their exam date in admit card which is uploaded on website.

About 72 per cent candidates of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main-1 have applied for the JEE Main-2 with hope to score better. It is for the first time happened when entrance exam for IIT, NIT and other prestigious institutes is being conducted for the two times. Final merit list will be prepared for the best marks scored by examinees out of the two exams. Online registration for second attempt of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Main has been concluded.

Candidates having appeared for the JEE-Main 1 exam were not issued any other application number of password for registering to JEE-Main 2. Students repeating the exam were asked to use the application number and password of the JEE-Main 1 exam. Students would not be allowed to change the six details including personal name, father’s name, gender, state code of eligibility, category and date of birth. Only exam city, center and paper medium can be changed. Online registration for JEE-Main 2 was allowed till March 7 and fee submission till March 8. The exam will be held from April 7 to 20 in two different shifts.

In the first round of exam there were 8.45 lakh students including 40 thousands from Bhopal. The result of JEE-Main 2 will be declared on April 30. Cut off list of JEE advance will be base on the result of both rounds. Experts said that the cutoff of first round is not helpful to prepare the final cut off list. The committee will make final cut off list after scrutinizing the both exam list. All India ranking will be releasing based on the best score of the two exams.

Talking about the exam levels, educationist said students should prepare for the second level of exam after taking the difficulty level of first exam as example. They said examinees should check their score section wise and work on the same for second level of exam. Experts suggested spending 45 minutes in Chemistry, 55 minutes on Physics and 1.5 hours on Math.

Experts are expecting 70 to 77 percentile for JEE advance. Last year general category cut off was 74 percentile. This year experts are expecting an increase in cut off percentile. This year (JEE) main is being conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to prestigious engineering colleges in India. The first round of exam was conducted from January 8 to January 20 in two different shifts including 9:30 to 12:30 and 2:30 to 5:30.

All applicants were allotted their admit card about three days back on the portal. In order to save the students from problem of searching the centers, National Testing Agency (NTA) released the center locator on its website. All applicants across country are able to locate their center on the official portal of JEE. After selecting the center on locator, it connects with the Google map and find out the exact location.
