Gadkari gets rousing welcome, to file papers on Monday

After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) declared ticket to him for the second term from Nagpur constituency of Lok Sabha, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, arrived in the city on Saturday. BJP and Shiv Sena office-bearers and workers gave him a rousing welcome. Gadkari arrived at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport here on Saturday morning. BJP city and district units accorded a warm welcome to him. He waved at the party workers, who raised the slogans pitching for his re-election. Gadkari walked some distance along with the party workers acknowledging their presence, and later got into his car. Gadkari will be filing nomination papers on Monday. He will be intensifying his campaign. He has been reaching out to various organisations and attending several programmes across the city.
 
Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister of district; Datta Meghe, former Member of Parliament; Krupal Tumane, Shiv Sena MP from Ramtek constituency; Dr Vikas Mahatme, Rajya Sabha Member; Prof Anil Sole, Girish Vyas, Nago Ganar, all of them MLCs; Sudhakar Kohale, BJP city unit chief and MLA; Vikas Kumbhare, Krishna Khopde, Mallikarjun Reddy, Dr Milind Mane, all of them MLAs; Nanda Jichkar, Mayor, were present prominently. Several prominent office-bearers and workers of BJP and Shiv Sena also were present on the occasion. They included Dr Rajiv Potdar, District President of BJP; Adv Ashish Jaiswal, former MLA of Shiv Sena from Ramtek; Virendra Kukreja, former Chairman of Standing Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC); Sandip Joshi, Ruling Party Leader; Ashok Dhote, Arvind Gajbhiye, Vikas Totade, Avinash Khalatkar, Dharmapal Meshram, Bhojraj Dumbe, Avinash Thakre, Charansingh Thakur, and others. Meanwhile, BJP-Shiv Sena alliance has started conducting the workers’ meets in Ramtek constituency of Lok Sabha too. Shiv Sena has repeated its sitting MP Krupal Tumane from this constituency.
 
Tumane was present in the workers’ meets held at Saoner, Katol, Narkhed, Kalmeshwar, Parseoni, and Wadi. In the meet, Tumane and leaders of BJP-Sena alliance appealed to the workers to reach out to people and inform them about the achievements of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government and developmental works carried out in the constituency in five years. Dr Rajiv Potdar, District President of BJP; Rajendra Harne, District Chief of Shiv Sena; Sameer Meghe, Hingna MLA; Prem Zade, Dilip Mathankar, Ashok Dhote, Anandrao Raut and others were present prominently in these meetings. In days to come, BJP-Sena alliance will intensify its poll campaign.
