3 more arrested in attempt on life of gym owner case

Omti police succeeded in apprehending three more accused involved in attempting murder of Asia’s Gym owner by firing bullets on him. The arrested have been identified as Mirza Rehan Beg (27), son of Irshad Mirza Beg in Hanumantal (Bhopal), Mohammed Nadeem (24), son of Mohammed Israr, Chandni Chowk, Hanumantal and Sheikh Azad (26), son of Sheikh Razzak of Gully No-13 in Mohariya, Hanumantal. CSP, Omti, Shashikant Shukla informed this while addressing a press conference, on Sunday. It may be noted that, on February 27, 2019, an attempt on the life of a man named Amit Bhasin (41), resident of Adarsh Colony in Adarsh Nagar and owner of Asia’s Gym was made by firing bullets on him when he was parking his car at Prabhu-Vandana premises. Meanwhile, his former employee Golu Khan arrived and said he wanted to talk to him. Bhasin asked him to talk at his office, but Golu insisted for talking on the spot.
Before he could learn his intentions, Golu fired bullets on Amit Bhasin and managed to escape from the spot. Amit sustained two bullet injuries and was rushed to hospital. Taking a serious note into the case, the then Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh had declared cash reward of Rs 10,000 for apprehending or giving information about the accused and constituted a team under the supervision of Additional SP (City), Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, Additional SP (Crime), Shivesh Singh Baghel and CSP, Omti, Shashikant Shukla. Investigating the case, police team led by SHO of Omti police station, Neeraj Verma had arrested two accused named Golu alias Abdul Khalid (28), son of Abdul Latif, a resident of Gully No-5 in Mecca Nagar, Hanumantal and Mohammed Rashid (27), son of Sheikh Shahzad, resident of Dhalgar Mohalla, Hanumantal. In further investigation, police learnt about three more persons involved in planning and execution of the incident. Acting promptly on the information, separate police teams started search and succeeded in apprehending three more accused named Mirza Rehan, Mohammed Nadeem and Sheikh Azad. The accused have confessed to planning and attempting murder of Amit Bhasin and revealed that an unidentified friend of the main conspirator Golu alias Abdul Khalid had given them four new mobile handsets and four new SIM cards and they were given codes as G1 (Golu alias Abdul Khalid), G2 (Unidentified friend of Golu), G3 (Mirza Rehan Beg) and G4 Mohammed Nadeem.
They had activated their SIMs in new mobile handsets two days before the incident, which were used only for executing shootout of Amit Bhasin. One of the arrested named Sheikh Azad had changed the original registration number MP-20KK-4573 of a motorcycle as MP-20MH-5754 and also hid two of the four mobile handsets after the incident. Police are trying to take remand of Golu alias Abdul Khalid again to identify his unidentified friend and apprehending him. Accused were apprehended with active working of police team led by SHO, Neeraj Verma and comprising SI, Rakesh Baghel, Head Constable, Amar Singh, constables, Deepak Vishwakarma, Rajendra Silawat, Crime Branch’s ASI, Ramsanehi, Anil, Ajit, Radheshyam and Cyber Cell’s constables, Nitin Joshi, Aditya Kumar, Vandit Rajput, Durgesh Dubey, Chandrika Prasad, CCTV’s Constable Deepak Sahu.
