Father arrested for poisoning two sons, attempting suicide

GUNGA police arrested a 40-year-man who poisoned his two sons and then attempted suicide on Sunday. After a woman informed that her two sons have been poisoned by her husband and he had also consumed poison, Gunga police swung into action and a police team rushed to the spot and took the victims to Hamidia and Kamla Nehru Hospital where their condition was reportedly stable. Upset over his wife not returning from her parent’s home, the accused Karan Singh Lodhi, who works at a salt factory in Gujarat, poisoned his sons Kartik (4) and Mohit (3) and then tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. He and his sons were taken to hospital. Later during investigation Karan’s wife Preeti revealed the details.

A complaint was filed by Preeti Lodhi stating that her husband Karan Singh Lodhi came to take her to Gujarat where he works and he requested to leave after 2-3 days Karan took her children and later poisoned them and tried to commit suicide by consuming poisonous substance. Police have registered a case under sections 307 and 309 of the IPC.

After Karan was discharged he was arrested by Gunga police. Police have started further investigation. Meanwhile Misrod police have nabbed a 48-year-old man who was absconding for long in cheque bounce case on Saturday night. The accused has been identified as Swapnil Jain, who was absconding in cheque bounce case and after he remained absconding arrest warrant was issued in his name. On Saturday evening, acting on a tip-off regarding wanted accused police team rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused. Police have started further investigations.
