The fluctuation in temperature is continuously affecting the people, while mild cold is being felt at night. The days are becoming warmer. However, the moderating influence of snowfall in Himalayan region kept the temperature below normal on Sunday. According to information provided by the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 34.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree less than normal maximum temperature. It may be mentioned that, maximum temperature was 34.7 degrees Celsius in previous year on the same day. Likewise, the minimum temperature also remained below normal on Sunday. The minimum temperature recorded on intervening night of Saturday and Sunday was 15.6 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees less than the normal minimum temperature. Whereas, the minimum temperature recorded on the same day in previous year was 18.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity recorded in the morning was 42 percent, while relative humidity recorded in the evening got reduced to 27 percent due to increase in temperature during day.
The sunrise was recorded at 6.09 am, while sunset was recorded at 6.23 pm as the days are becoming longer day after day due to change of season. The northeastern wind is blowing with speed of 2 km per hour, due to which, weather has become moderate. The fluctuation in maximum and minimum temperature, which some times remains above the normal and some times remains below the normal minimum or normal maximum temperature, has led to spread of weather-borne diseases. The cases of whooping cough, sneezing are increasing. On the other hand, the cases of swine flu and patients with symptoms of swine flu are also being registered. However, the timely detection of the swine flu and its treatment is helpful in making the patient normal again.
Its symptoms are whooping cough, higher degree fever, ache in throat and respiratory trouble. On the other hand, increase in temperature has also led to spread of mosquitoes, which might create trouble in days to come. According to information provided by the Meteorological Department, no rainfall occurred on Sunday. The rainfall recorded on the same day in previous year was 1.7 mm in the evening. According to weather forecast of Meteorological Department, weather would remain dry in next 24 hours in Jabalpur division.
