OFB Chairman inaugurates Gun Shop for production of Sarang-155 at VFJ

Handing over ceremony of Dhanush-155 guns to the Indian Army was cancelled due to uncertain reasons 
 
DIRECTOR General Ordnance Factories (DGOF) and Chairman of Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) Saurabh Kumar inaugurated newly established Gun Shop to kick-start production of Sarang-155 gun at Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ) on Tuesday. Earlier, Chairman Saurabh Kumar inspected newly established Gun Shop for production of Dhanush-155 gun at Gun Carriage Factory (GCF) and sought information about the progress in production of guns.
 
He interacted with senior officers and gave directions to expedite production of Dhanush guns. Thereafter, DGOF and Chairman reached Grey Iron Foundry and visited the production unit of 250 kilograms bomb shells. He sought information about production of shells and assured officers to soon release indent to start production of 250-kilograms bomb shells in the factory. OFB Chairman Saurabh Kumar reached Jabalpur on Tuesday.
 
He inspected Ordnance Factories and handed over maiden consignment of indigenously developed six Dhanush guns to Indian Army at Gun Carriage Factory. The handing over programme was cancelled due to uncertain reasons. Gun Carriage Factory, Joint General Manager and Public Relation Officer, Prashant Prasanna informed that the handing over ceremony of Dhanush-155 guns was cancelled due to uncertain reasons. He informed that the ceremony to hand over maiden consignment of indigenously developed world class Dhanush gun to the Indian Army will be rescheduled soon.
