Goods train derailment affects traffic on Howrah-Mumbai route

A goods train derailed on main line at Chacher Yard under South-East Central Railway on Saturday. This affected the train traffic on Howrah-Mumbai route and many trains had to be halted at different stations. As per the details, the said goods train started from Chacher Yard and as it reached the main line, a part of bogie number 621919 went off the railway track. As the train was running at low speed, it did not affect other bogies and goods train stopped.
 
This resulted in disruption of traffic on Howrah-Mumbai and Mumbai-Howrah route. As soon as they got the information, senior officials of South-East Central Railway’s Nagpur Zone rushed to the spot. C Ramanna, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, monitored the situation at Itwari, and Tomar, Divisional Commercial Manager, and other officers monitored the situation from control room. The trains that were halted included 12130 Azad Hind Express, which was detained at Chacher.
 
The 12810 Howrah-Mumbai Mail was stopped at Tarsa. Howrah-LTT Samrasta Express also was stopped. The 12833 Ahmedabad-Howrah Express, 12859 Mumbai-Howrah Geetanjali Express were managed at Nagpur station. The 11039 Kolhapur-Gondia Maharashtra Express ran as passenger. Dongargarh and Tatanagar passengers were cancelled. Balaghat-Itwari local was stopped at Khat. Late in the evening, Up line was cleared and the work of clearing Down line was in progress.
