Describing Congress Lok Sabha candidate Digvijay Singh as visionless leader and criticizing his vision document for Bhopal, BJP has said that it will prepare its own vision letter for Bhopal by taking views from general public. Shortly, vision letter will be prepared and everyone would be informed about it. Addressing the joint press conference, BJP’s National Vice President Prabhat Jha and former Revenue Minister Umashankar Gupta said that, why Digvijay Singh did not do development in 10 years of his rule?

They said that, Digvijay Singh is a visionless leader and now, BJP will talk to people and will prepare its own vision letter for Bhopal. Prabhat Jha said that, after going through the vision document of Digvijay Singh, it looks that hitherto Bhopal was like an orphan city. Reckoning the development works of Bhopal, he told that whatever changes happened in terms of development they happened during the previous Government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

He accused Digvijay Singh of misguiding people through his vision document. “After remaining CM for ten years, Digvijay Singh left the State in tatters. There were no roads, adequate electricity and no irrigation facility,” he alleged. He also claimed that no major promises of Vachan Patra have been fulfilled by Congress Government led by Kamal Nath. “I have just returned from the tour of Bhind and there, people told that, no farm loan waiver has taken place,” he claimed. Umashankar Gupta told that during Digvijay’s reign, he used to be Bhopal Mayor and at that time, he suggested to Digvijay Singh that city’s water crisis could be wiped out by bringing Narmada water. On this, Digvijay Singh had replied that those who want Narmada water should go to Narmada belt. Mayor Alok Sharma said that numerous development works took place in Bhopal during Shivraj rule.

Development of city will be core issue in campaigning programme of BJP to be led by party candidate Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. When question was asked that why Bhopal development plan got delayed for 15 long years, Prabhat Jha and Umashankar Gupta were answerless and they looked for succor towards Mayor Alok Sharma. After initial hiccups, Mayor Alok Sharma told that actually Master Plan was almost ready, but Assembly elections took place and unfortunately, Congress came to power. Hence, unnecessary delay took place.
