Temperature comes down by few notches but heat continues to trouble people

People have some relief from scorching heat as mercury level came down marginally across the State. The temperatures have declined by a degree or two in most places. Notwithstanding the downfall in temperatures, heat is still troubling people. The highest maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khargone. Bhopal’s maximum temperature settled down at 39.1 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal. Its minimum temperature was 20.4 degrees Celsius, 1 degree above normal. Jabalpur’s maximum temperature was 38.7 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal level. Its minimum temperature was 18.6 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal level. Gwalior recorded maximum temperature at 38.5 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal level. Its minimum temperature was 16.8 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees below normal level. Weather Department said that maximum temperatures have fallen down in Shahdol division. Maximum temperatures of Hoshangabad, Indore, Ujjain divisions remained at normal mark.
 
The good thing is this that there was no heat wave warning in State. The forecast made by Weather Department says that there would be no major change in weather conditions. Bhopal is going to witness clear sky and winds will blow at the speed of 14 km per hour. Maximum temperature would be around 39 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature would be around 21 degrees Celsius respectively. Weather Department expects that if mercury level would surge once again after couple of days and at that time heat will keep people on tenterhooks. The weather conditions would remain dry across the State.
 
The duty officer of Weather Department said that temperatures came down by few notches as there is no system. However, mercury level will shoot up once again after couple of days. In the meantime, on set of summer season has increased sale of cold drinks, lemon water and traditional drinks such as lassi and sugar cane juice by leaps and bounds.
