City’s Ahmad Shayaan gets rare distinction of getting admission in top 5 US universities

Ahmad Shayaan, studying in IIIT, Bangalore in computer science engineering got acceptance from 5 top universities in US for his masters course in Financial Engineering. It a futuristic programme which is uses data science and artificial intelligence in Finance with an acceptance rate of 8-9% only in top ranked universities & Ivy Leagues. Shayaan got acceptance from the Ivy League, Columbia University, University of California, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and University of Washington.
 
At UC, Berkeley he is the only undergrad student to get admission. Shayaan studied in DPS Bhopal and made it to IIT in 2014, but gave up his seat as he wanted to study Computer Science and could not get it, and later joined IIIT Bangalore. He has been in Dean’s Merit list throughout his 5 year I-M-Tech programme. He went for a summer internship to Germany on DAAD scholarship in his 3rd year.
 
He also presented an international research paper at a prestigious IEEE conference in Prague this year. He is son of Rizwan F Siddqui, AGM BHEL and Dr Asma Rizwan, Professor at People’s University.
