Round the clock monitoring of EVMs at strong room in Old Jail


Representatives of political parties in front of Old Jail on Monday, Police personnel deployed for the security and monitoring at Old Jail premises.

Collector and District Returning Officer Dr Sudam Khade following the directives of Election Commission of India, has ensured security at the strong room situated at Old Jail, where EVMs and VVPAT machines have been kept in the State capital.
 
District Returning Officer has deputed executive magistrate/ gazetted officer and a senior police official for round the clock security and monitoring. In the order issued by Collector and District Returning Officer, the officials including Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Joint Director, Manoj Shrivastava, Tehsildar, Veeresh Singh, Revenue Inspector were on duty from 8am to 4pm on May 13. D K Rai, Deputy Director, Manish Sharma, Tehsildar, Yogendra Pare, Revenue Inspector from 4pm to 12 hours at night on May 13. Different administrative and police officials will remain on duty till May 23. According to order, the deployed officials will ensure compulsory entry of visit of authorised persons in logbook, photography of visitors will also be ensured.
 
Webcam and laptop will be made available at entry point. Entry of vehicle of any person is restricted in the premises where EVMs have been kept in security. District Returning Officer directed that returning officers will only visit internal circumference of strong room campus every day in the morning and evening and also directed for checking of logbook and videography and to ensure sending everyday report to collector office. He also directed to ensure directives of ElectionCommission strictly.
