DGM Sunil Agrawal sent to police remand

Deputy General Manager of Punjab National Bank (PNB) Sunil Agrawal was sent to four days Police Custody Remand (PCR) in connection with alleged financial irregularities at the State Government’s DKS Super Specialty Hospital, Raipur.
 
According to police sources, the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sumit Kapoor had sent the then AGM in PNB Sunil Agrawal to PCR till 4 pm of May 23. After hearing argument from both the sides, the court has granted PCR of Sunil Agrawal to police so that investigation in the case of alleged financial irregularities to the tune of around Rs 65 crore in DKS Super Specialty Hospital could be taken ahead. Notably, Sunil Agrawal has been accused of sanctioning loan to the tune of around Rs 65 crore for DKS Super Specialty Hospital, Raipur on the basis of forged documents. It may be recalled that on May 16, Chhattisgarh Police arrested Agrawal in New Delhi and produced before a court in Delhi on ‘Transit Remand’, which was reportedly rejected. Meanwhile, hearing the bail plea of Agrawal, the court reportedly granted bail to the senior bank officer on the condition that he has to appear before the court in Raipur on May 20.
