Katangi police crack blind murder mystery, nab accused in 24 hours

Katangi police have solved the blind murder mystery of a youth and arrested the accused within 24 hours of the incident. The youth was killed following his illicit relation with the wife of accused. The accused has been identified as Shambhu Choudhary (30), son of Lakhan Choudhary, a resident of Kanti village. Superintendent of Police, Nimish Agrawal (IPS) disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Monday. It may be noted that, a youth named Halke Bhai Gond (18), step son of Gaya Singh Gond, resident of Paudi Rajghat village, was brutally killed by unidentified person and his body was found at a farm in Murgavan village, on Sunday morning. IN primary investigation, Katangi police said that Halkebhai Gond lived with his step-father and working with Dinesh Patel, a resident of Luhari village. On May 17, Halke went to work but could not return home.
 
On Sunday morning, the body of Halke was found at a farm in Murgavan village. Learning about the incident, a police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem after conducting Panchnama at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital. Katangi police registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC.
 
Taking a serious note into the case, Superintendent of Police, Nimish Agrawal (IPS) constituted a police team under the supervision of Additional SP (Rural), Dr Raisingh Narvaria and SDOP, Patan, S N Pathak for further investigation and identification of accused. Investigating the case, police learnt that the deceased was last seen while travelling on loading auto of Shambhu Choudhary, a resident of Kanti. Receiving the information, police team started a search and detained Shambhu Choudhary. The accused initially tried to misguide the police, but he broke down in a rigorous interrogation and confessed to killing Halke Gond. Accused informed that he had doubt of illicit relation of Halke Gond with his wife.
 
He several times warned him for keeping distance from his wife, but two days back, he witnessed his wife going with Halke Gond. He decided to take revenge from Halke and took him to a farm in Murgavan Chowk and killed him by hammering his head with a piece of cement electricity pole. The blind murder mystery was solved with active working of police team led by SDOP, Patan, S N Pathak and comprising Sub Inspector, Sayyed Iqubal, Amjad Khan, ASI, Milan Singh Rajput, Rammilan Patel, Head Constable, Munnalal, Constables, Uday Pratap Singh, Kamlesh, Chandrakant, Chandrashekhar and Santosh Warkade.
