Foundation stone laid for boundary wall of AFS

Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar visits Air Force Station, Sonegaon 
 
Tuesday was an important day for Air Force Station (AFS), Sonegaon. For, the foundation stone for boundary wall was laid at the new site of AFS. The development is the first step towards eventual re-location of the station. Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar AVSM VM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Air Command, laid the foundation stone. Jaya Kumar, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional), accompanied him during his visit to Air Force Station, Sonegaon. On arrival, the Air Marshal and Jaya Kumar were received by Gp Capt S K Tiwari, Station Commander, AFS Sonegaon and Anamika Tiwari, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Local).
 
Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar was presented ceremonial Guard of Honour on his arrival to the base. Subsequently, the Air Marshal took stock of operational, maintenance and administrative aspects to assess the operational readiness of the Station. Jaya Kumar planted a sapling as an initiative to create eco-friendly environment that would take shape along with the Air Force Station.
 
She took stock of welfare activities undertaken by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Local) during her visit to the Station Medicare Centre and Thrift Shop ‘Sakhee’. She addressed ‘Sanginis’ of AFS Sonegaon and appreciated the steps initiated to ensure good health and well being of families, states an official press release.
