“Protecting art and cultural heritage is the base of developing any society or nation, but the origin of Gondwana dynasty is losing its existence amidst rampant development. There is an urgent need to conserve the Gondwana culture for desired development of Mahakaushal region by declaring separate Gondwana state. In order to press demand for separate Gondwana state, a massive campaign will be started on the occasion of Balidan Diwas of Rani Durgawati, on June 24 at Samadhi Sthal,” informed Dr Satish Naag, National President of Gondwana Gantantra Party’s Anusuchit Jati Morcha while addressing a press conference, on Monday.

Dr Satish Naag informed that, a separate Gondwana state is required for protection of natural resources available in Mahakaushal region and generating new employment opportunities for youngsters. He charged that following the absence of foresightedness in Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress Party’s governments, large number of youngsters are regularly migrating to other states for employment and people from other states are working in the region. He charged that, thousands of tribal and backward class families were displaced in the name of development as a large number of families displaced during establishment of Bargi Dam are still deprived of their rehabilitation.

On the other hand, corporate houses are earning huge profit in development projects and outsiders are getting employment in the region. Instead of protecting natural and old water bodies, the Government is wasting public money due to its wrong policies. Even after more than 70 years of independence, farmers are facing huge losses, youngsters are deprived of employment and tribal and backward people are still seeking fundamental facilities.

Dr Naag informed that, GGP’s Anusuchit Jati Morcha will observe Rani Durgawati Balidan Diwas on June 24 and start the campaign for demand of separate Gondwana state under the leadership of National President, Dada Heera Singh Markam. During the press conference, State Vice-President, Indra Kumar Goswami and District Rural President, Munna Shah Sarote were present.
