Inauguration of NADT’s orientation programme for promoted officers today

THE National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), Nagpur is the apex training academy in India for the officers of lncome Tax Department. The officers newly promoted from ITOs to ACsIT will undergo orientation training of eight weeks at NADT for developing skills to effectively discharge their duties as assistant commissioners/ assistant directors of Income Tax in the field offices.
The inauguration ceremony for the orientation programme ‘Uttarayan-2019’ for these newly promoted ACsIT is scheduled on May 31, from 10 am onwards. Asha Agarwal, Pr DG (Training), NADT will be the chief guest. During the eight-week long training, these officers will be provided inputs on all aspects of tax administration. Apart from training them in discharging their core functions of tax collection and tackling tax evasion, they would also be provided inputs to tackle economic crimes like money laundering, embezzlement, frauds and various other financial scams.
During the training, adequate emphasis would also be laid on the physical fitness of the officer trainees. With this training, the effectiveness of these officers as tax administrators will be greatly enhanced, informs Rishi Kumar Bisen, Dy Director (HQ), NADT.
