Dr Abdul Kalam Cup, Babu Genu Cup Short Pitch National Cricket Tourney inaugurated

Under the aegis of Short Pitch Cricket Federation of India, Lakshmi Narain College of Technology (LNCT) University inaugurated 2nd Dr Abdul Kalam Cup and Babu Genu Cup Short Pitch National Cricket Tournament.
The competition witnessed remarkable start of Madhya Pradesh where the State team won both the matches showcasing wonderful performances. Earlier, the competition was inaugurated by Dr Anupam Chouksey, President, SPKA, MP, Shweta Chouksey, Vice President, Indian Women Football Association, Pradeep Sakhre President, SPKI, Indrajeet Nitinwar, General Secretary, SBKI.

In this three-day tournament held at playing field of LNCT Excellence, Madhya Pradesh team defeated New Delhi team in senior male category. The Madhya Pradesh team scored 84 runs in the 7 overs, losing two wickets in the first match. In return to which, Delhi's team scored 78 runs in the scheduled overs. In the second match of the senior category, Uttar Pradesh team defeated Rajasthan team by 2 runs in the exciting competition. Chhattisgarh team defeated Rajasthan one-sided in the senior female category. The female players of Chhattisgarh batted first scoring 108 runs in 7 overs. In which player Anjali scored 40 runs. In reply to which, the entire team of Rajasthan scored 51 runs in 7 scheduled overs.
 
On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh team defeated Maharashtra by 10 runs in the Babu Genu Cup male category. Batting first, Madhya Pradesh scored 85 runs losing 4 wickets in 7 overs. In response, the Maharashtra team could score only 75 runs in the set overs. Tournament Secretary Pankaj Jain said that senior and mini teams of 14 States of India are participating in this tournament.
