‘IRM technique helps ryots improve yield’

The 24th meeting of Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR-CICR, was held at its campus at Central Institute for Cotton Research. Members of Line Departments, Project Director ATMA, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Nagpur; State Animal Husbandry Department, District Sericulture Officer, innovative farmers of Nagpur district attended the meeting.

Dr Vijay N Waghmare, Director, ICAR-CICR, Nagpur chaired the meeting. While addressing the house, Dr. Vijay N. Waghmare stressed the need for popularising the IRM technologies in the district for control of pink bollworm in ensuing season. He further added that adoption of Information Rights Management (IRM) techniques may help farmers to effective management of pink bollworm by reducing the cost of production.
 
Earlier Dr S M Wasnik, Principal Scientist, Extension and Head, KVK and Member Secretary of SAC presented achievements of KVK during the year 2018-19. Annual Action Plan for 2019-20 was presented by respective subject matter specialists and was discussed thoroughly in detail and suggestions of
the house incorporated in
the minutes.
Dr Panchbhai, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture; Dr Nalini Bhoyar, Project Director, ATMA; Dr Blaise D., Head of Department, Crop Production, CICR; Dr Nandini Gogte, Head of Department, Crop Protection, CICR and other line department officials and SAC member farmers also attended and took part in deliberations.
