The proposed remodelling work of Jabalpur Railway Station and yard has to be done by the Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway (WCR). For this, a mega block of more than 21 days has been proposed. The new schedule for the proposed mega block has been proposed from July 1 to July 21, 2019. Earlier, the mega block for remodelling was proposed from June 21 onwards. The mega block at Jabalpur Railway Division would directly affect operations of over 117 trains that are passing, originating or terminating at Jabalpur Railway Station. Sources in the department informed that, a mega block of about 21 days has been planned and as per the schedule, trains would be operated. The schedule for mega block are being prepared by the Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) office coordinating with different departments and its experts from Engineering, Electrical, Signal and Telecom, Operation and Transmission, Mechanical and other departments to ensure timely completion of work with accuracy and quality standards.
Preliminary reports are being given final touches by different departments for prioritisation of works under the direction of DRM Jabalpur and higher officials of the WCR Headquarters. According to the information, off line works on up and down lines has already been started that could be carried out without any block or stoppage in routine operations of train.
With fresh proposal of mega block at Jabalpur from July 1, 2019 onwards, around 50 trains that run through Jabalpur Station towards Katni or Itarsi routes would be diverted via Bhopal. Trains originating from Jabalpur Station towards Katni would be started from Adhartaal Station, while trains running towards Itarsi from Jabalpur would run from Madan Mahal Station.
