Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Nagpur which is ranked as one of the top B-schools in India, welcomed its 16th batch of PGDM. The 10-day event kick-started with an inaugural function of the orientation programme. The guest of honour for the event was Rajeev Karwal, Member of the Governing Council, IMT and Founder – Milagrow Business and Knowledge Solutions. Mamta Saikia, CEO Bharti Foundation, was the chief guest for the programme.
 
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Rajeev Karwal, Ms Mamta Saikia, Dr Subhajit Bhattacharyya (Director, IMT Nagpur), Dr P J Ramadu (Dean- Academics) and Dr A N Singh (Admission Chairperson). Dr A N Singh in his address, gave the demographic distribution of the current batch and said, the new batch is a mix of students from varied geographical background as well as educational background. Dr Subhajit Bhattacharyya, in his welcome speech, emphasized on the importance of having a goal be it a short term or long term. He guided the students on how to make the most of these two years. He explained them how it is important for them to put in a lot of effort in building their overall personality alongwith sound academic knowledge.
 
Rajeev Karwal, an alumnus of IMT gave valuable inputs to the new batch of PGDM. He said, “You are your own value, you are your own product, nobody can do things that you have dreamt of, nobody can provide you the goals, those are the things that you will have to do yourself.” He emphasized in inculcating the spirit of IMT, which is, “We will never fail any of our stakeholders, whether it is our parents, whether it is people who have helped us in any ways, professors, director, alma matter, mentor, suppliers or customers. We never lack in attitude. So keep that spirit flying high always, shine for yourself, shine for your families, shine for your society, shine for your alma matter and shine for the community”. On this occasion a new logo of the IMT Alumni Association was unveiled.
 
 
Mamta Saikia also an alumnus of IMT, in her enthralling speech said, “As next generation managers, your responsibility is not only limited to looking at yourself, but also to look around at the community at large and contribute in the manner possible.” She quoted, “The pace at which technology is changing around us, it is absolutely necessary for one to keep updating oneself with new skills to remain relevant.” The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr P J Ramadu (Dean- Academics) which marked the end of the successful event. He thanked the faculty members, administration office and academic office who contributed towards the grand success of the programme and also gave the best wishes to the new batch. The 10-day orientation programme will witness a series of power packed lecture by some of the most esteemed members of the corporate sector.
