When inner world connects with outer world through Yog!

“Vyayamaat Labhate Swasthyam, Deerghayushya Balam Sukham| Arogya Param Bhagyam, Swasthyam Sarvartha Sadhanam||” This Sanskrit verse says, practicing exercise on daily basis one can get health, long life, strength and happiness. To lead a healthy life is the greatest virtue. Healthy body, healthy mind and healthy thoughts are required to make entire environment healthy.
 
‘Yog’ guarantees one healthy body, healthy mind and healthy thoughts has been recognised by United Nations five years ago and entire world had started celebrating June 21 as International Yoga Day. BKS Iyengar, a Yoga expert of International repute had mentioned “Yoga is a light, which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame.”
 
Practicing Yog is establishing connection between inner and outer environment. Keeping in mind these eternal principles of Yog, a large number of citizens performed ‘Yog’ at Yashwant Stadium on Friday morning. Devotees of many organisations in city preaching and promoting ‘Yog’ attended the mega event organised by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
 
All attended the event with white clothes as a dress code. The spectacular event held at Yashwant Stadium, once again proved the time tested principle of Yog. These demonstrations helped the citizens to realise self, establish connection between body, mind and intellect. Through the wonderful practice of Yog on Friday, the viewers had realised the unique harmony and connection between an individual and the environment.
“The entire world has joined hands with India to celebrate International Yoga Day in the fifth year. Yoga Shashtra is a wonder gift given by India to the world. This ancient science is a symbol of ancient culture, history and heritage. Each Indian should feel proud as the world has recognised this science which is practiced with great enthusiasm across the world,” said Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping; and Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
 
Gadkari was addressing as a chief guest of the main and mega event to mark International Yoga Day organised by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan in association with different Yoga Mandals and Sansthas in city at Yashwant Stadium.
 
Entire world is witnessing advancements in health care and medical science. Despite these progress, each person is required to take care of his health. Janardan Swami had given this key of health science in the form of Yoga Sadhana to every one. It is now our duty to preserve and promote this great science. This will help yoga to reach the last man in the society and help in living a healthy life, Gadkari added.

The members of different organisations presented spectacular demonstrations. Persons of all age right from children to old age persons participated in the demonstrations. The programme started with demonstrations of Yog Sutra Way of Life followed by Hand Pan Playing by Parvinder Singh of OSHO DHARA; Nagpur District Yoga Association, Shri Yoga Sadhana Kendra; international Yoga expert Dhanashree Lekurwale and other teams demonstrated different Yogasana on the tunes of music. Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar made introductory remarks. Dayashankar Tiwari conducted the proceedings and Dilip Dive proposed a vote of thanks.
 
Police Commissionarate
International Yoga day was celebrated at the police parade ground in the premises of Police Commissionarate in association with Patanjali Yoga Samiti. Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushankumar Upadhyay inaugurated the event. Yoga teacher of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Hansraj Mishra demonstrated different asanas. All officials in the
commissionarate, police inspectors of all police station, employees and their family members attended the event. Joint Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rekha Bhaware, Assistant Police Commissioner and many officials worked hard for the success.
Police Head Quarters, Nagpur Rural
International Yoga day was celebrated at police headquarters, Teka Naka. Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural), Rakish Ola; Additional Superintendent of Police, Monika Raut; Police Inspector, Deepak Wanjari; Police Inspector, Crime Branch, Sanjay Purandare; PI Transport, A M Jittwar; PI Sakharkar; Assistant PI, Upase, Rotia, Khokle, Gaurkhede, Raut, Pande, Bharose and many others attended the event.
Central Railway, Nagpur Division
Yoga Camp was organised at Community Hall in Ajani. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) M S Uppal inaugurated the camp. Ravishankar Tarase and Dr Sanjay Tambe, Yoga Teachers, demonstrated the asana. ADRM Manoj Tiwari, ADRM N K Bhandari, Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr V K Asudani; Divisional Personnel Manager, G P Bhagat and many others were present. Mangesh Kashikar conducted the programme and also proposed a vote of thanks.
 
AIIMS
 
Dr Arvind Kushwaha, Associate Dean (Academics), briefed the gathering about the celebration. Dr Ranjan Solanki took the gathering briefly through a series of standing and sitting postures followed by meditation. This was followed by forming the letters YOGA through various postures on the ground. Everybody participated and enjoyed this part of the programme. The celebration was concluded with the idea of starting a Yoga club at institute to practice Yoga once a week for one hour. This would help and motivate the staff to integrate yoga in the daily routine. Regular practice of yoga will surely help everyone achieve a harmony between physical, mental and spiritual selves.
 
AMD Complex
 
The Automic Minerals Directorate (AMD) of Exploration and Research with grand preparations celebrated fifth International Yoga Day in the residential complex of the office. A week long Yoga Training Camp is being arranged in the residential complex of the office, Telangkhedi Road from June 21 to 27 from 6.45 am to 7.45 am daily under the guidance of Shivkumar Arya, Yogaa Guru, Arya Samaj, Sadar. Regional Director, Suresh Kumar inaugurated the programme. Deputy Regional Director Arjuna Panda, senior Scientists Prakhar Kumar, T Deshpati were also present.
Central Ground Water Board (CGWB)
CGWB under Ministry of Water Resources jointly organized a function on the occasion of Inter National Yoga Day (IYD). 55 officers and staff members from Central Region and Division 6, participated in the IYD function held at New Secretariat premises, Civil Lines. The renowned yoga expert from Shri Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal were invited. Yoga Instructors Prashant Kale, Chandrakant Gharote, Kailash Rode have given demonstration on various yoga practices.
 
Raman Science Centre and Planetarium
International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Raman Science Centre. A popular science lecture and workshop on yoga were held on this occasion. A Popular Science Lecture on’ Benefits of Ayurved and Yoga’ was delivered byYogacharya Dr Amit Naphade, Central Government Health Services. Dr Naphade elaborated on Ashtanga Yoga. A yoga workshop was conducted after the lecture. The participants were given first hand training about how to perform different simple yogic asanas and Pranayama in daily life. About 35 persons including officers, staff members, trainees and apprentices participated in the Popular Lecture and Yoga Workshop.
