Women can manage business efficiently: Kanchan Gadkari

With the objective of creating awareness about the various schemes of Union Ministry of MSME for the benefit of women entrepreneurs and to accelerate women enterprises in Vidarbha MSME-DI Nagpur recently organised one-day seminar on ‘Vision for Accelerating Women Enterprises in Vidarbha’ for the existing and prospective women entrepreneurs of Vidarbha region. Mayor Nanda Jichkar; Kanchan Gadkari, President, Swayampurna Sanstha, Nagpur and Advocate Gauri Chandrayan, were the keynote speakers of the seminar. P M Parlewar, Director, MSME-DI Nagpur presided over the function. Speaking from the dais, Kanchan Gadkari said that there are various schemes of Government for women entrepreneurs but there is lack of awareness about them. She further said for starting any business skill, quality of the product manufactured, innovation, patience, risk taking ability, knowledge about the market are all the qualities which are must.
 
‘These qualities are already there in women. So they can manage business efficiently and compete in the global market,” she said. Gadkari also stressed on value addition. “The product manufactured should be unique and of best quality,” she said adding that there is no short cut to success. It can be achieved through hard work only. She appealed to women to become self employed and give employment to other women. Nanda Jichkar said that women entrepreneurship has been recognised as an important source of economic growth. “Indian women are not only educated, talented, confident, assertive, ambitious, career oriented but they also know their minds. Foresight, time-management ability, patience, ability of taking calculative risks are ingrained in the modern women, she said. She assured all help to existing and prospective women entrepreneurs from NMC.
 
At the outset, Parlewar welcomed the dignitaries on the dais with floral bouquets and gave power point presentation on various schemes with revised guidelines of MSME Ministry to the participants. He spoke on Prime Minister Employment Generation Scheme (PMEGP), Domestic / International Trade Fair scheme where subsidy is provided to women entrepreneurs, Cluster Development scheme for women, Stand up India and Start Up India scheme and various other schemes where subsidy is provided to women for starting their enterprises. He appealed to the Mayor to provide space to conduct skill development training programmes.
 
Adv Gauri Chandrayan said that it is the right time for women to become self employed and give employment to others and contribute to the society. For any business marketing is very important. Similarly quality of the product manufactured is of utmost important, she added. The programme was co-ordinated by Parineeta Pandhram, AD, MSME-DI and MVK Jha proposed vote of thanks.
