Bhopal Capital, Indore Metropolitan area to be developed: Jaivardhan

 

Like Delhi NCR, Bhopal Capital Area and Indore Metropolitan Area will be developed. Mandideep, Obaidullaganj, Sehore will be included in Bhopal Capital Area, while Dewas, Pithampur and Mhow will be included in Indore Metropolitan Area. Discussion and planning in this direction should be made. This was stated by Urban Development and Housing Minister, Jaivardhan Singh at the Academy of Administration during a Madhya Pradesh Housing Board workshop on ‘Quality Assurance and Quality Monitoring for Project Delivery’.

 

Qualitative work should be done within time limit: Singh said that the Housing Board will be strengthened further in the next five years. He said that the board should complete quality work within the time-frame. Make project keeping the low-income consumers in mind. Identify the prime location in all the cities and make residential or commercial projects. Singh told to make long term plans to increase the board’s profits. He said that demands of the employees of the board should be considered sympathetically. Adopt best practices of the world: Urban Development and Housing Minister said that understand the best practices not only in the country but of the whole world and adopt them. Government will extend full support to the Board but there be no callousness in completing all the projects. He told to use new techniques in construction works after testing it completely. Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Sanjay Dubey told to think like customer, only then board will be able to construct good houses. He told to construct quality houses for consumers on time and also be strict in making recoveries.

 

Dubey said that focus on quality should be the priority since day one. He said that the cost, timing, quality and delivery of the project should be well-planned. Dubey said that the board needs to work better to deal with the challenge of private builders. Commissioner Housing Board Carolyne Khongwar Deshmukh said that the Board has constructed nearly 1.82 lakh houses till now. She hoped that the workshop will prove to be useful in resolving the problems that are faced while completing the project under consideration. Amendment will be made in the Board manual on the basis of the conclusions drawn at the workshop. Subject experts gave important suggestions in the workshop.
