Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has assured the members of MP Shramjivi Patrakar Sangh of helping them in resolving the issues regarding Mama Manikchand Vajpayee Patrakar Colony. A delegation of the sangh, under leadership of its divisional chief, Pradeep Mandre, met Scindia at the Jai Vilas Palace during his recent visit to Gwalior to seek support of government for solving the problems related to new Patrakar Colony. The GDA (Gwalior Development Authority) had allotted the 140 housing plots to the journalists at Mama Manik Chand Vajpayee Patrakar colony, scheme at new City Centre area of Sirol Pahadiya in Gwalior in year 2009.

All instalments of the lease rent had been deposited by the journalists whose name were opened in lottery but the possession of the land has not been still given to them by the Authority. Interestingly, the GDA had signed the registered lease documents in favour of the journalists in 2010. The land which had been allotted to the journalists was disputed and a fake owner has made a decree from the High Court in his favour. At present, a case of this land is proceeding under the court.

Due to mismanagement of the GDA, journalists have been facing trouble despite they had been deposited the full lease amount in 2010. Jyotiraditya Scindia assured the journalists that he will look into the matter seriously and would ask government and district administration to resolve this matter on priority. Scindia immediately informed the matter to the Collector of Gwalior Anurag Choudhary to resolve the issues regarding Patrakar colony as soon as in favour of journalists.

After that, the journalist Union on Friday called on the Collector on this issue. Collector Choudhary directed Nodal officer of the GDA and Additional Collector, Anup Singh to look into the matter and to address the problems related to the possession of the plots in the colony. Apart from Pradip Mandre, senior journalists, Rajendra Shrivastava, Bachchan Bihari, Chandravesh Pandey, Dr Satyaprakash Sharma, Suresh Dandotia, Rajeev Agrawal, Raman Sharma, Raman Popli, Harish Dubey, Jogendra Sen, Ravi Upadhyay, Alkendra Sahay, Ravindra Kushwah, Bhupendra Kushwaha, Deepak Diler, Bhupendra Arya and Assistant Director, Department of Public Relations, Madhu Solapurkar were present during the meeting
