3 members of Chhotu Choubey Gang held

A COMBINED team of Crime Branch and Gorakhpur police nabbed three accused associated with Chhotu Choubey Gang and seized a country-made revolver, a pistol, a revolver and three live cartridges from their possession. The arrested have been identified as Himanshu Nigam (21), son of Virendra Nigam, a resident of Shantinagar Colony in Panna district, Mintu alias Monty Rajput (20), son of Anil Singh Rajput, resident of near Kalimath Mandir in Madan Mahal and Kalu alias Bhawani Rajak (32), son of Kishan Lal Rajak, a resident of Kakraiyya Tallaiyya in Gorakhpur.
According to Crime Branch, they received information that a suspected man was sighted near Gupteshwar Mandir in Sethi Nagar area to sell firearms to Chhotu Choubey Gang. Taking prompt action on the information, a combined team of Crime Branch and Gorakhpur police started search and trapped the suspected man named Himanshu Nigam, a resident of Shakti Nagar and native of Ajay Garh in Panna district. In his search, police seized a country-made pistol and a live cartridge. The accused was arrested by Gorakhpur police.
During interrogation, the accused broke out and confessed selling of a country-made revolver and a revolver to Montu and Kalu near Howbagh Railway Station. On his identification, police team started a search and succeeded in apprehending Monti and Kalu near Hawabagh Railway Station and seized a revolver, a pistol and two live cartridges from them. In further investigation, Himanshu Nigam disclosed that he works for Chhotu Choubey Gang and supplies firearms to Chhotu and his gang. Monty Rajput and Kallu Rajak are members of gang.
They informed about purchasing firearms from Ajaygarh in Panna district and Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. Gorakhpur police have registered a case under Section 25/27 of Arms Act and took accused on police remand for more information about crime activities. Gangsters were apprehended with active efforts of police team led by SHO, Umesh Tiwari and Crime Branch’s Head Constables, Dhananjay Singh, Vijay Shukla, Pramod Pandey, Constables, Birbal, Mohit, Deepak, Ramgopal, Rammilan, Mahendra, Khuman, Ramsahay, woman constable, Priyanka and Gorakhpur’s SI, Balchand Kantode, SI, Brajbhan Singh and others.
