Take stern action against people involve in food adulteration: Silawat

Police and administrative officials should initiate stern action without any fear against people involve in adulteration of food items, milk and milk made products. If needed case under National Security Act and Exile from revenue limits of the district, so that fear of law and action kept people away from making adulteration in food items.
The instructions were given by Tulsi Silawat, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister, Government of Madhya Pradesh while addressing the Video Conferencing of Divisional Commissioners, Collector, Police Officials from Bhopal held under the presidentship of Chief Secretary, SR Mohanti, on Friday.
 
Minister, Silawat declared the officials and employees initiate strict action against food adulterators would be given safety cover. At national level the message should go that extensive and effective drive against food adulteration is being carried out in Madhya Pradesh.
 
Chief Secretary, SR Mohanti said that evil of adulteration in food items should be eliminated from the system otherwise it would adversely effect our future generations. He directed to ensure persistent but effective action against adulteration. Samples of food should be collected at Tehsil level, development block and should be sent for food testing. Action should be taken against vehicle owners transporting adulterated food items. At Collectorate, Jabalpur, situated Video Conference Room, Collector Bharat Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh (IPS), Additional Collector, Harsh Dixit, Dr. Saloni Sidana, Municipal Commissioner, Ashish Kumar and officials of all the related departments were present.
 
Chief Secretary, Mohanti instructed Collector, SP, Food Department officials and officials of Civic Bodies to initiate action while maintaining coordination against violators. He asked to establish effective information network and regular collection of samples of milk, milk products, mawa and other milk made products should be carried out regularly. Cases should be filed against owners of workshops, shops involve in food adulteration. He said food adulteration is a serious offence like sedation and action should be taken strictly.
 
Chief Secretary have taken updates of action taken in Satna, Rajgarh, Badwani, Sagar, Katni, Jabalpur and also taken information related to the facilities available with the field staff and team. Principal Secretary, Public Health and Family Welfare, Department, Pallavi Jain Govil informed that for Food Safety two food test laboratories would be established in Jabalpur and Gwalior.
