Hundreds of vehicle riders are suffering injuries due to accidental skidding of bikes on the mud-filled Maharajpur Taradehi road. The red soil laid on the road is becoming the cause for skidding of two-wheelers in rainy season. Residents have alleged that red soil has been laid instead of gravel over the road by contractor of the department concerned. Hundreds of such cases of accidents have occurred in the last few days after the occurrence of heavy rainfall here.

Some two-wheeler riders have sustained grave injuries on limbs. Despite this, responsible officers of the PWD and contractors are not utilizing the gravel to stop occurrence of similar mishaps in the future. Security measures are also being ignored at diversion as symbols have not been displayed along the road. This is an important road that connects Maharajpur with Taradehi.

Hundreds of villages like Maharajpur, Khirkiya, Ramkhiriya, Samanapur, Seth, Harduli, Arjuda are connected with this road. If the action is not taken to prevent occurrence of such incidence, big mishap might occur in future as the road has converted into marshland due to wet swampy red soil at many places. Every now and then two wheeler riders are sustaining injuries due to skidding.
