Monsoon rains are expected to revive once again in Vidarbha as Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has predicted heavy rainfall in the region, including Nagpur city, in next 48 hours. Rains will occur due to low-pressure area which is likely to form in the north Bay of Bengal. It would further move in the westerly direction towards the central parts of the country.
Thus, light rain with one or two moderate spells occurred in Vidarbha on Monday. By Tuesday, rains may aggravate and a few heavy to very heavy spells will be observed for couple of days, stated Skymet Weather in a press release. The another short brake in monsoon increased maximum temperature all over Vidarbha. On Monday, Nagpur recorded the highest maximum temperature in the region with 33.8 degree Celsius while Akola (32.6 degree Celsius), Amravati (30.4), Buldhana (27.3), Bramhapuri (32.8), Chandrapur (31.0), Gadchiroli (32.0), Gondia (31.5), Wardha (33.0) and Yavatmal (30.0) also registered humid and hot weather. Yavatmal is the only place that recorded 15.4 mm rainfall on Monday followed by Amravati (4.4 mm) while other places in Vidarbha remained dry. The relative humidity across Vidarbha was above 70 per cent. Washim recorded highest 100 per cent humidity. Amravati (92 %), Gadchiroli (90 %) and Wardha (90 %) crossed the 90 per cent mark on Monday.
