Governor Lalji Tandon said that person honoured for excellent services creates history because his/her act is committed towards the security of country and society. He further stated that the names of the honoured police officers of the state will be recorded in history. Tandon mentioned that medals conferred to them are proof of their competency. Discharging duties with responsibility is a symbol of their valour. He said that this remarkable accomplishment will inspire future generation.
This was said by the Governor during the visit of the police officers honored for their outstanding services at Raj Bhavan on Friday. The Governor said that respect to uniform is a respect to society and nation. This uniform is a symbol of people’s security. It arouses a feeling of pride among the people. All of us countrymen feel safe under the shadow of uniform. Tandon said that jawans posted at the borders even sacrifice their life while fighting with enemies in adverse conditions. Moreover, uniform protect us while shouldering its responsibility during internal security. This also become a life saver during natural calamities. It conducts relief and rescue works with dedication. The Governor Tandon said that we all should realise it and be proud of. Moreover, the Governor said that the task of police is utmost sensitive. Police protect us from criminals and get them punished.
He expected from the officers that they will work with same spirit in future and will inspire and guide their subordinates. The Governor congratulated and extended best wishes to the medal winner officers and their families. Paramount priority to safety of children and women: Informing about the achievement of Police, the Director General of Police V.K. Singh said that the top priority has been given to child and women safety. A training centre of women battalion has been established in Chhindwara. The percentage of punishment for crimes against women is increasing continuously. The Special Director General of Police Vijay Yadav informed that the state police force has contributed significantly in maintaining peace and security in the state along with the national exigencies too.
Moreover, the Madhya Pradesh Police has also given its contribution in 1961 as well as 1965 war and in security arrangement of bordering states. The Governor Tandon received introduction from the honoured officers one by one.
