Notably, the broad daylight kidnapping was reported near the residence of Home Minister to State Tamradhwaj Sahu. Unfortunately, the ever increasing crime and lawlessness is growing rapidly especially in Durg and its neighboring districts falling under Durg Police Range is presenting a grim image of the police functionary. Reliable sources informed that the kidnapped toddler Maulik Sahu (4), son of Chandrashekhar resides at Dhanora. He is a student of KG-1 in Borsi Colony situated Royal Kids School. On Tuesday morning, the school van picked Maulik from his residence and the vehicle was stopped between Kadam Plaza and Saint Xavier’s School at Borsi-Dhanora Road.

One among the three masked kidnappers approached the van driver Kamlesh and succeeded in engaging him by asking him why he was negligently driving the van a couple of days ago. Meanwhile, the second masked kidnaper then forcibly took away the victim kid, who was sitting on attendant Divya Khutel’s lap. Although she tried to resist the kidnapping but the kidnappers vanished till the driver and the attendant could have understood anything. Later, the lady attendant made a phone call to the school principal Shanti Sharma, who in turn alerted the police.

On information, the police swung into action and started examining the vehicles plying on different roads under Kotwali and Pulgaon Police Station limits. While investigating into the daredevilry kidnapping, the police managed to obtain the image of the kidnappers with the help of a CCTV installed near the Kadam Plaza. It was initially reported that the kidnappers along with the child fled towards Maharaja Chowk but after getting some crucial clues, the fact was established that they took Borsi Railway Line road to escape. Legal proceedings in this connection were in progress at the Padmanabhpur Police Post while a rigorous hunt to nab the unidentified kidnappers has been launched. Police probing the case from different angles:Basically a farmer, the abducted kid Maulik’s father Chandrashekhar owns a mill and is also in business of paddy. Maulik is the only son of his parents, who got married around 6 years ago. It was reported that Chandrashekhar had sold his farmland for crores few years back. He was also in dispute with a lawyer over some financial causes. Police is probing the case from different angles and the victim family has so far not received any call for ransom, informed sources.
