When Babulal Gaur was minister and CM, his bungalow used to remain abuzz with the cacophony of higher rank officials, politicians and even common people. But on Wednesday, there was a pall of gloom at Babulal Gaur’s bungalow. Amid this calmness, political leaders and common people were jostling to pay homage to Babulal Gaur. They could not believe that Babulal Gaur is no more. Galaxy of leaders cutting across party line and hundreds of his supporters turned up at Babulal Gaur’s bungalow to pay their last respect for him. Common people and his supporters could not believe that their beloved leader, who rose to prominence in politics from a union leader, is no more.
CM Kamal Nath, BJP leaders including BJP National Vice President Prabhat Jha, ex CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Leader of Opposition, Gopal Bhargava, ex Minister Umashankar Gupta, ex minister Vishwas Sarang, ex minister Surendra Patwa, BJP State President Rakesh Singh, Congress leader and ex union minister Suresh Pachauri etc missed no time to reach at the bungalow of Babulal Gaur and to pay him last respect. Normally Babulal Gaur used to meet people during morning hours and he used to listen their problems calmly. He was also privy to the slokas of Bhagwat Geeta and Ramayana. When people used to meet him, he used to quote religious slokas as a guiding force. Babulal Gaur’s demise is a big loss for Govindpura area, his tradition seat from where he got elected for record ten times.
Such was his popularity among people that he never got defeated and made rival Congress candidate to bite the dust. In last assembly election, he distanced from electoral politics due to age old related problems and ticket was given to his daughter in law Krishna Gaur who won the election with thumping margin. He was also known from his proximity to some Congress leaders including Digvijay Singh. In his tweet, Digvijay Singh told that he is saddened due to demise of Babulal Gaur.
“ We both remain on two separate poles of politics but he was always close to my heart practically…….by the demise of Babulal Gaur, I lost a political friend,” tweeted Digvijay Singh. Moreover, his friendship with Congress leader and Minister Arif Aqueel was known to everyone. both used to get mingle by forgetting party lines and used to share their memories and problems. Arif Aqueel was seen sitting near to mortal remains of Babulal Gaur and with a grim face.
