University Grants Commission (UGC) started three-day ‘Deeksharabh’ students’ induction programme from Wednesday in State capital. Inaugurating the programme, UGC Chairman Dr D P Singh said that it is the emphasis of UGC to provide quality education. On one hand effort is to develop eligible teachers and on other hand there is target to provide good atmosphere to become a good student.
UGC Chairman Dr D P Singh told that across the world, stress is being paid on quality education. Suggesting that nation building moral values should be provided to students, he told that UGC will shortly start a series to increase the equality of higher education in country. Talking about various new innovative steps taken by UGC in his tenure, he stressed to develop education system around integrated development of great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi.
More than 200 teachers have participated in the inaugural programme. On this occasion, Higher Education Department’s Principal Secretary Hariranjan Rao told that teachers play an important role in quality education. He added that learning is a life time thing. Dr Renu Batra, Additional Secretary, UGC, also addressed the gathering.
