In the case of contract killing, Sadar cops arrested Mickey Bakshi as Rishi Khosla had an affair with his wife
 
 
AN alleged illicit relationship with former friend’s wife led to the murder of businessman Rishi Brij Khosla in Sadar area minutes after Wednesday midnight. The body was found lying in a pool of blood near the compound wall of Sadodaya Laxmi Apartment on the road stretch connecting Gondwana Square and Nelson Square. A resident of Plot No. 28, Byramji Town, Chhaoni, Rishi (48) was the owner of Khosla Air Coolers Company, J B Wing, Mangalwari Complex, Sadar. Sadar Police arrested Mickey alias Rupinder Balveersingh Bakshi (54), a resident of Raj Nagar, and Managing Director of Youth Force Security Services (I) Pvt Ltd, in this connection.
 
The incident took place when Rishi was returning home. Around 12.20 am on Thursday, goons accosted him. They attacked Rishi on his neck and head with some sharp-edged heavy weapons killing him on the spot. The ‘killers’ then quickly sped away in their vehicle. Some passers-by and people residing near the spot informed the police. Staff from Sadar Police Station, led by WPSI Wankhede, rushed to the spot. Senior Inspector Mahesh Bansode and other senior officials also visited the spot to supervise the probe. After establishing the identity of the deceased, cops sent the body to Mayo Hospital for post-mortem. After conducting preliminary investigation, police took Mickey Bakshi into custody and arrested him at 3.06 am on Thursday. Cops seized one of the vehicles used by the goons for committing the crime that was parked in front of Hotel LB on Mount Road, Sadar. On the basis of a complaint lodged by Manish Khosla (44), younger brother of the deceased, Sadar Police registered a case under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Mickey Bakshi, Girish alias Nanu Dasarwar and others.
 
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nilesh Bharne told ‘The Hitavada’ that it was a well-planned case of contract killing. Investigation revealed that Mickey Bakshi had given ‘Supari’ to Girish Dasarwar to eliminate Rishi after he came to know that he had an affair with his wife. “After putting Mickey behind bars, police have launched a manhunt for Girish Dasarwar and other accused in the case,” he added. Senior Inspector Bansode, who is investigating the case, produced Mickey Bakshi before the Judicial Magistrate First Class S D Mehta.
 
Seeking remand of accused Mickey Bakshi till August 31 for his custodial interrogation, the prosecution told the court that the police wanted to find out involvement of other accused persons and arrest them. Similarly, weapons and other vehicles used by the accused persons for committing the heinous crime were to be seized, added the prosecution. After hearing the grounds cited by the prosecution and arguments of the defence, the court remanded Mickey Bakshi to police custody till August 25. Meanwhile, sources informed that the police recorded the statements of Mickey Bakshi’s wife and some eyewitnesses. Possibility of involvement of a city-based cricket bookie, who is brother of Mickey Bakshi’s wife, in murder case cannot be ruled out, alleged the sources.
 
Khosla, two others were booked for outraging modesty of woman Jaripatka Police had booked Rishi Khosla and two others for outraging modesty of a woman. In February this year, Rishi Brij Khosla and two of his friends -- Ballu Kewalramani and Munna Dhole -- were booked for allegedly assaulting and outraging the modesty of a young woman. An offence under Sections 323, 354, 354(A), 354(b), 293 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against them.
