HIGHLY ambitious project of re-modelling and non-interlocking project at Jabalpur Station worth over Rs 10 crore has been accomplished four days prior to the set target on Friday. The extensive month-long project of West Central Railway (WCR) in Jabalpur division is complete.
From Saturday onwards, train services from Jabalpur Railway Station will be reinstated with operation of trains with more punctuality, safety and security. Jabalpur Division has made hefty preparations matching the safety and security standards as per guidelines of the Railway Board, Chief Security Commissioner, Indian Railways. The project got approval from the Railway Board, Chief Security Commissioner from July 29, 2019 to August 27, 2019, but with consistent and well planned working under the supervision of Divisional Railway Manager the project was completed before the deadline.
On Friday, mega block at Jabalpur Railway Station kept all six platforms closed for operations from morning to evening. In the evening with lifting mega block the month-long project came to an end. From Saturday onwards all the platforms will be opened and operation of all the affected trains will be restored. During this period, around 15 trains were cancelled, while 17 trains were diverted. Total 19 trains generating or terminating at Jabalpur Railway Station will be restored from Saturday onwards on schedule time.
Since July 23, a team of Jabalpur DRM office including all the head officials of all the technical departments including Engineering, Signal, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Finance and other departments along with representatives WCR Headquarters remained on toes to complete the task promptly with quality. DRM Jabalpur Dr Manoj Singh said that duo works including non-interlocking session and remodelling of Jabalpur Yard are two developments that took place simultaneously.
This caused a little inconvenience to passengers but this development will benefit people immensely for a long term. According to officials, technical constrained related to use of pit lines and platforms in Jabalpur Railway Station have been resolved. Now, delay of trains due to technical lacking of clearing up and down trains simultaneously have been resolved and after this development trains on up and down track on platform number one and two could be delivered and received at a time. While trains can be diverted on platform number 3, 4, 5 or 6 number platform also. This will reduce the halt time at outer or called at home of different trains.
