Students rush to colleges for admission in CLC


 
Staff Reporter : Continuing the last phase of admission to traditional under graduate and post-graduate degrees, Department of Higher Education (DHE) directed to keep the counselling centres and help desk open even on Sunday. On Saturday, many students rushed to the colleges even in rain to confirm their admission on allotted seat. The department has allotted about two lakh seats or the college level counselling which is last phase of admission to the courses.
 
Till now, about 34,000 candidates have confirmed their admission on given seats while remaining applicants are yet to confirm their admission with fee submission. As it is Sunday today, large number of students appeared in colleges on Saturday for admission confirmation even in the rain. Concerned over the rush of students, DHE directed to keep the centres open on Sunday too. There are about 1.67 lakh students yet to confirm their admission on allotted seats. Last date of admission confirmation is August 27 while for PG courses last date is August 28. There are 65,000 allotment for PG courses out of which only 1,000 candidates have confirmed the admission. According to DHE there are about 88,000 girl students and 1.11 lakh male students locked their choice for admission in CLC.
 
Last date of registration and verification under one step scheme was August 22. Merit list based on the reservation and eligibility was released by the department on Monday. Last date of fee submission for the admission confirmation as per the first merit list of CLC is August 27. According to DHE there are 50,972 students including 20,604 girls and 30,368 boys registered for UG admission out of which 1,98,906 candidates filled their choices in first CLC round. For PG admission there were 7,773 registration including 4,000 girls and 3,773 boys out of which 51,078 choices were filled up.
 
If any candidate has applied for more than one college, his name would be appear in the merit list of all colleges and after submitting the fee for admission confirmation, his name will be disappeared from the merit list of other institutes. The department said all applicants required to fill their choices for participating the CLC round. Concluding the online admission to post-graduate courses, 19,353 students confirmed their admission to the colleges in second round.
 
There are 12,276 girl students and 7077 male students confirmed their admission in second round while seats were allotted to 31,656 applicants including 19,523 girls and 12,133 boys. There were 20,133 students downloaded the online link for admission in second round. Remaining 32% students will be now taking admission through the college level counselling. Apart from this, after concluding the two round of admission to under graduate courses, DHE left with large number of seats vacant. College and DHE officials are expecting to fill up the vacant seats in CLC round with huge rush of students.
