Petition filed against V-C of CSVTU for alleged corruption

A PETITION has been filed against Vice-Chancellor of CSVTU, Bhilai at Bilaspur High Court. This petition has been filed by Virendra Pandey of Raipur on August 21, in which Dr Verma has been accused of corruption. The petitioner has requested police investigation into the matter. Besides filing petition in court, the petitioner has also filed a complaint against Prof Verma at Raj Bhawan. Applications were invited by Raj Bhawan for appointment of new Vice-Chancellor of CSVTU till August 24 after the completion of the tenure of Vice-Chancellor.

Sources informed that after scrutiny of the applications received, three names have been finalised by Raj Bhawan, of which one name is said to be of Prof M K Verma. Possibilities of the announcement of the name of new Vice-Chancellor of CSVTU may be made on September 1. In such a crucial stage a complaint at Raj Bhavan and petition in High Court against Prof Verma may prove to be a major hurdle in his re-appointment as V-C.
