BHEL Bhopal manufactures high pressure heater

BHEL Bhopal’s Heat Exchanger Group has successfully manufactured, & tested the First High Pressure Heater for 4000 MW Ultra Mega Power Plant of Coastal Gujarat Power Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Limited. In a simple ceremony held on Friday, D K Thakur, Executive Director BHEL Bhopal flagged of the consignment for commissioning at the site. On this occasion M L Taurani GM (Thermal), M S Kinra, GM (Quality), Vipin Minocha GM (MM & CDC), P K Mishra, GM (Hydro & Fabrn), A K Varshney GM (TPTN & Feeders) and all HODs & employees of Thermal Group, Quality, Fabrication group, Logistics were present. B Murthy, Customer representative from M/s CGPL was also present.

Addressing the gathering Thakur appreciated & congratulated all the employees associated with the successful manufacture and testing of the product. He further urged all the employees to work towards achieving more such success. Taurani in his address opnied that with this breakthrough, BHEL is confident of receiving more orders of HP Heaters in this rating for other units of this project & from other customers.
 
The heater has been manufactured in Thermal Group’s Heat Exchangers Division of BHEL Bhopal for 800 MW Unit #5 of CGPL UMPP. HP Heater of this rating has been manufactured for the first time in BHEL, meeting stringent quality requirements of the customer. Three more heaters are under manufacture in BHEL.
Earlier, this group has successfully developed, manufactured & supplied Duplex LP Heaters for 800 MW Super Critical power plants. All the 800 MW power stations supplied by BHEL are having Duplex Heaters manufactured by BHEL-Bhopal.
 
It is for the first time that HP Casing for 700 MW Nuclear power plant were successfully manufactured & supplied to NPCIL meeting all stringent requirement. Similarly, special product of Nuclear power plant i.e. Moisture Separator & Reheater has been developed, manufactured & supplied by this group for all 700 MW Nuclear power plant.
