Social worker Ram Ingole to get ‘Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Jeevan Sadhana award’ Youth Parliament award winner Shweta Umre to be honoured
Renowned social worker Ram Ingole will be honoured with ‘Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Jeevan Sadhana’ award. The award will be conferred upon Ingole during the 96th Foundation Day of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), at the University’s Convocation Hall, at 3 pm on August 4.
Addressing a press conference on Friday Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr S P Kane stated that Vice-president of University Grants Commission Prof Bhushan Patwardhan will be the chief guest for the function. Dr Kane will preside over. Officiating Pro-VC Dr Vinayak Deshpande will be the guest of honour.
Besides Ingole, ideal teachers, officers, non-teaching employees will be honoured. Three prizes to college magazines, best Educational Institute and Balraj Aher memorial Best Employees medals will also be given. best student and special award to Shweta Umre of Institute of Science will be given.
The award winners are Best Institute - Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya, Sakkardara Square, Nagpur; Ideal Officer - Pravin Madhukar Gotmare, Garden Superintendent; Ideal Non-teaching employee - Sunil Krishna Ingle and Rajendra Pandurang Pathak (Both Class-III), Arun Lahanuji Neware, Pankaj G Hemnani (Rajkumar Kewalramani Girls’ College, Nagpur) and Dilip Rambhau Khadse (Yashvant Mahavidyalaya, Selu).
A Gold medal has been institute in memory of Principal Balraj Aher, former registrar of the University and Deputy Registrar Archana Bhoyar has been selected for it.
The college magazine awards have been given to ‘The Hispolian’ of Hislop College - first; ‘Insurgo’ of YCCE - second and ‘The Clock Talk’ of Laxminarayan Institute of Technology. The consolation prizes are being given to ‘reflections’ of Datta Meghe College of Architecture, Nagpur; ‘Manohar’, of Manoharbhai Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Sakoli, Bhandara; ‘Yugspandan’ of Bhavbhuti Mahavidyalaya, Amgaon, Gondia; ‘Arthsandesh’ of G S College of Commerce, Wardha; ‘Manas’ of Shri Sant Gadgebaba Hindi Mahavidyalaya, Jalgaon.
Best Student Award of the university will be given to (Boy student) Nirant Chandrashekhar Pardikar of J D College of Engineering, Khandala, Katol Road, Nagpur and (Girl Student) - Kajal Sukhlal Ahake of Rajkumar Kewalramani Girls’ College, Nagpur and Aarohi Arvind Wadalkar, Government Institute of Science, Nagpur.
Shweta Umre is being honoured by the University on this occasion. She won the first prize in National Youth Parliament Festival, held at Delhi. Shweta cleared district, state and national level selections and presented her speech in Delhi. She is a student in Forensic Science at Institute of Science. Her speech in Delhi was highly appreciated and went viral on social media.
Pro-VC Dr Vinayak Deshpande, registrar Dr Neeraj Khati, Finance Officer Raju Hiwase, Director of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Anil Hirekhan, Deputy Registrar Pradip Biniwale and PRO Dr Shyam Dhond were present.
