Social worker Ram Ingole to receive ‘Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Jeevan Sadhana’ award
The 96th Foundation Day of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), will be celebrated at the University’s Convocation Hall, at 3 pm on August 4. The Vice-president of University Grants Commission, Prof Bhushan Patwardhan will be the chief guest. Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Dr S P Kane will preside over. Officiating pro-V-C Dr Vinayak Deshpande will be the guest of honour. Renowned social worker Ram Ingole will be honoured with ‘Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Jeevan Sadhana’ award for his exemplary work in education and rehabilitation of socially deprived women and their children. Best University officers, students and institutions will also be awarded on the occasion.
Also, best college magazines will get prizes at the hands of the guests. Those who will be honoured at the celebrations include -- Best Institute - Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya, Sakkardara Square, Nagpur; Ideal Officer - Pravin Madhukar Gotmare, Garden Superintendent; Ideal Non-teaching employee - Sunil Krishna Ingle and Rajendra Pandurang Pathak (Both Class-III), Arun Lahanuji Neware, Pankaj G Hemnani (Rajkumar Kewalramani Girls’ College, Nagpur) and Dilip Rambhau Khadse (Yashvant Mahavidyalaya, Selu). A Gold medal has been institute in memory of Principal Balraj Aher, former Registrar of the University and Deputy Registrar Archana Bhoyar has been selected for it. The college magazine awards have been given to ‘The Hispolian’ of Hislop College - first; ‘Insurgo’ of YCCE - second and ‘The Clock Talk’ of Laxminarayan Institute of Technology.
Consolation prizes are being given to ‘Reflections’ of Data Meghe College of Architecture, Nagpur; ‘Manohar’, of Manoharbhai Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Sakoli, Bhandara; ‘Yugspandan’ of Bhavbhuti Mahavidyalaya, Amgaon, Gondia; ‘Arthsandesh’ of G S College of Commerce, Wardha; ‘Manas’ of Shri Sant Gadgebaba Hindi Mahavidyalaya, Jalgaon. Best Student award of the university will be given to (Boy student) Nirant Chandrashekhar Pardikar of JD College of Engineering, Khandala, Katol Road, Nagpur, and (Girl Student) - Kajal Sukhlal Ahake of Rajkumar Kewalramani Girls’ College, Nagpur, and Aarohi Arvind Wadalkar, Government Institute of Science, Nagpur. Shweta Umre is being honoured by the University on the occasion. She won the first prize in National Youth Parliament Festival, held at Delhi.
