State Bar Council members to receive Rs 5L for treatment of chronic diseases

Earlier, the Medical Aid and Death Claim Scheme fund was just Rs 1 lakh now raised to Rs 5 lakh 
 
Now, members of State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh would get Rs 5 lakh as Medical Assistance Fund for treatment of chronic diseases. An amount of Rs 5 lakh would be given to kin on death of Advocate. In this by State Bar Council would provide Rs 2.5 lakh and same amount would be contributed by the State Government. Earlier, the Medical-Aid and Death Claim Scheme fund was just Rs 1 lakh now raised to Rs 5 lakh. State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh, Chairman, Shivendra Upadhyay has launched of new scheme in presence of executive committee, on Sunday at SBC Office.
 
Eminent Lawyers Vice President, Dinesh Narayn Pathak, Senior Advocate Radhelal Gupta, Senior Advocate RK Singh Saini, Manish Dutt, Bhupendra Narayan, MPHC Advocate Association, Vice President, Paritosh Trivedi, Secretary Manish Tiwari, Advocate Pankaj Tiwari, Ajitesh Tiwari and others were present. Addressing a press briefing on the occasion SBC MP Chairman, Shivendra Upadhyay informed that a cheque of Rs 3.50 lakh handed over to Secretary Madhya Pradesh Advocate High Court Bar, Manish Tiwari to send it to the family members of Advocate Veer Vikrant Singh who is admitted in Ahmedabad for treatment of Kidney. He is Junior of Former Advocate General RN Singh.
 
While Rs 2.50 lakh has been given as death claim under this scheme of Rs 2.5 lakh for kin of late Advocate Anand Dutt Mishra with the start of this scheme on August 1. Shivendra Upadhyay added that since long SBCMP members are struggling for social welfare of Advocates. Earlier this medical aid amount was Rs 1 lakh, which has been raised five times to Rs 5 lakh.
 
Upadhyay added that recently on August 1, 2019 the decision on the scheme has been finalised in a meeting of Trust Committee with Law Minister, PC Sharma. That is why this scheme has been initiated from August 1, 2019 in place of July 1, 2019. SBCMP, Chairman, Upadhyay said that another highly ambitious scheme of Pension for Advocates are in pipeline. For this to raise funds meeting have been started and soon scheme would be chalked out. He further declared that proposed strike for Advocates Protection Act declared by SBC MP have been deferred after the assurance came from Chief Minister, Kamal Nath and Law Minister, PC Sharma that in coming meeting of Cabinet the proposed Advocates Protection Act would be tabled and cleared by Cabinet.
