Marbat-Badgya procession reflects unrest, anger of common citizens


 
Staff Reporter : The unique tradition of taking out procession of Marbat in city has been successful in preserving the fire of social unrest. This year too, like previous years, Marbat and Badgya processions held on Saturday has continued its tradition of socio-cultural reflections. Keeping the tradition alive, the procession of Kali Marbat organised by Shri Devasthan Panch Committee was started from a small temple of Kali Marbat near Shri Hanuman Mandir in Itwari area at 10 am. The procession of Pili Marbat organised by Tarhane Teli Samaj was started from Jagnath Budhwari area at 10 am. The union of Kali and Pili Marbat was held at Nehru Putala.
 
Thousands of people thronged on the streets to witness the meeting of Kali and Pili Marbats. Both these Marbats spread message ‘Ida, Pida, Rograi, Gheun Ja Re Marbat’ and carried forward the legacy of ancestors by symbolically protesting against various evils prominent in the society. The joint procession was started from Nehru Putala. Many other organising committees joined the procession with their small sized pili Marbats.
 
A ‘Bhuri Marbat’ joined the procession. The effigy of Bhuri Marbat had spread the message ‘Save Indian Family and Marital Harmony in the society.’ The Bhuri Marbat was successful in awakening society about the misuse of article 376, CPRC 125 and false cases registered under 498 A. These Marbats were successful in awakening society about the unconventional rules and regulations of the Government and private institutions as social evils. ‘Badgya’ the male form of effigies also joined the procession. As many as 14 badgyas participated in the procession.
 
The Badgyas were successful in highlighting the corruption, frauds, political situation and other evils in the country. These Badgyas were the symbolic representations of different issues in the country. The Badgya of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was the centre of attraction. Through this Badgya, people gave a clear message ‘ Pakistan Ke Ghar Mein Nahi Hai Khana; Bharat Ko Band Kar Dhamki Dena,’ ‘Mat Bhul Pakistan Tera Baap Hai Hindusthan,’ ‘Kashmir to Hamara Hi Hai, Aab POK ki baari’. The quick response to the comments and threats of Imran Khan was well displayed through this Badgya. The Badgya representing former Minister P Chidambaram was also interesting. It has spread messages ‘Desh Huwa Kangal Aur Lungi Mein Chhipaya Maal’ ‘Aab Lungi Ho Gayi Neeli’ etc. Adim community’s Badgya gave message ‘Halbancha Vishwasghat Karnaryala BJP Sakarle Gheun Jaa Re Badgya’. The displeasure against BJP Government was displayed effectively. The local issue of one society’s corrupt director was presented through a Badgya stating, ‘Savadhan Savadhan, Samaj Ke Bhrashtachari Vyavasthapak, Sanchalak Mandal Danavo Se Savadhan’.
 
Other Badgya also raised a issue against BJP Government and spread message ‘Chunav aale ki Mahayatra Kadhun, Aaplya Kamacha Hishob Deun, Jantela Murkha Banavinara Badgya.’ Other Badgyas also effectively discussed the issues like ‘Vijay Malya Case’, ‘GPRS Case,’ ‘Pulwama Attack,’ ‘Unwama Rape Case,’ ‘Cancellation of Article 370’, ‘Spoiling the youths’, etc. The joint Marbat-Badgya procession started from Nehru Putala and passed through Marwadi Square, Mirchi Bazar, Amardeep Cinema, Shahid Chowk, Gandhi Putala, Badkas Chowk, Mahal, Kotwali, Gandhi Gate, Agraser Chowk, Ganjakhet Square, Golibar Square, Bharat Mata Square, Pivali Marbat Chowk. The procession concluded at Pivali Marbat Crematorium near Naik Talao where the effigies were burnt as per the tradition. The executive committee members of Shri Devasthan Panch Committee including President, Milind Madne; Secretary, Devendra Harde; Treasurer, Nikhil Tidke; and members of Kali Marbat Festival Committee including Presidents, Gaurav Harde, Jitendra Gupta, Rahul Harde; Secretaries Nikhil Harde, Nilesh Mahajan, Prashant Gupta; treasurers, Nehul Gupta, Roshan Harde, Sachin Gupta, Subhan Qureshi; Vice-Presidents, Rakesh Harde, Nikhil Gupta, Akash Mantnawar and others. The executive committee members of Marbat Nagoba Devasthan, Tarhane Teli Samaj including President Prakash Gaurkar; Secretary, Vijay Khopde; Treasurer, Devidas Gabhane; Joint Secretary, Kishore Malkar; Manohar Motghare, Sharad Takitkar, Devanand Ambagade, Chandrashekhar Deshmukh, Dharmendra Sathwane, Jaywant Takitkar, Bhushan P Khopde, Bhaskar Takitkar, Swapnil Motghare, Shubham Gabhane, Nitin Gaurkhede, Kishore Khode, Shubham Gaurkar, Digambar Deshmukh, Kunal Motghare, Atul Bhute and others along with different Badgya Utsav Mandals participated in the procession in large numbers.
