World Bank to assist in C’garh Govt flagship Narwa, Garuwa, Ghurwa, Badi scheme implementation

The World Bank has agreed to provide its assistance to Chhattisgarh government in implementation of its flagship Suraji Gaon (Narwa, Garuwa, Ghurwa and Badi) scheme. Junaid Kamal Ahmad, the Country Director for the World Bank in India, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his official residence on Thursday. During the meeting where Agriculture Minister Ravindra Chaubey was also present, discussions were held on various subjects including usage of new technology in areas which are less developed agriculturally and measures to increase agriculture production.
 
During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the World Bank Country Director about the initiative taken by the state government towards strengthening agriculture based economy through implementation of Suraji Gaon (Narwa, Garuwa, Ghurwa and Badi) scheme. Baghel said with the implementation of this scheme the villagers are getting directly benefited.
 
The World Bank Country Director praised the initiative and assured the Chief Minister that every possible assistance would be extended by the World Bank for development in agriculture sector and development of agriculture based infrastructure. During the meeting the Chief Minister gave a detailed presentation on Suraji Gaon (Narwa, Garuwa, Ghurwa and Badi) scheme and its benefits. He further added that women self-help groups and youths are being encouraged to participate so that they can get employment in their villages. Present on the occasion were Additional Chief Secretary K D P Rao, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Gaurav Dwivedi and Advisor to Chief Minister Pradeep Sharma and other senior officials.
