BJP stages dharna against Cong Govt’s apathy towards farmers

Shivraj Singh Chouhan demands that Rahul-Sonia should apologies to farmers
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged dharna in all Assembly constituencies of State and protested against alleged negligent attitude of Kamal Nath Government towards farmers on Friday. It accused State Government of pushing farmers into deep financial crisis by making promise of waiving loan upto Rs 2 lakh. BJP leaders led the dharna at different places. The dharna was attended by numerous farmers. Ex-Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated dharna in Ichawar area of Sehore and told that excess rains have damaged kharif crops, including soybean, and no one is hearing the voice of farmers.
 
 
 
He said that Rahul Gandhi has duped farmers by promising to waive off Rs 2 lakh loans. He demanded that Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi should tender apology to the farmers.
 
Taking on Chief Minister Kamal Nath, he told that if he had been CM then without survey he would have given relief to farmers that also without survey. He alleged that people sitting in government does not go anywhere to assess the losses. And if he goes among people then he is abused. “Now today I am not CM but I am still Mama of farmers and children,” he quoted.He demanded that farmers should be compensated by the average of Rs 40,000 per hectare. Along with this, farmers need bonus, loan waiver, fertiliser and seed.

Mandsaur have not received adequate help. They are now dependent on relatives and social workers for daily needs including food. He warned that if Government does not immediately starts the survey work to assess losses then it will be difficult for it to function. In Bhopal, MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, ex-MP Alok Sanjar, ex-MLA Surendra Nath Singh, etc participated in dharna.
