Satyapal Maharaj, a true disciple of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj has been following his footsteps and creating social awakening in rural area about various evils in the society. Satyapal Maharaj’s followers would also spread his message throughout the country and should take the country on the path to become Vishwa Guru,” said Tamil Nadu Governor, Banwarilal Purohit on Saturday.

He was addressing as a chief guest at a function organised by Marwadi Foundation to give away late Prabodhankar Thackeray Samaj Prabodhan Puraskar 2018 to Satyapal Maharaj at Sai Sabhagurha, Rashtrabhasha Sankul, Shankar Nagar. Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways, Micro, Small and Medium Industries, Nitin Gadkari was the special guest on the occasion. Former MP Ajay Sancheti presided over the function. Terming Satyapal Maharaj as a real idol of rural India, Purohit said, “Through his Khanjari Bhajans, Satyapal Maharaj has been spreading social messages like cleanliness, superstition, caste discrimination, addiction, solid waste planning, female feticide, the importance of education, free village free of poverty. Like Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj and Sant Gadge Baba, Satyapal Maharaj also became a strong social reformer.
A precious jewel of rural India, Satyapal Maharaj through his selfless, dedicated work with simple living has been inculcating morality and values in youths. The true disciples of Satyapal Maharaj would definitely make India free from corruption.” Earlier, Late Prabodhankar Thackrey Samaj Prabodhan Puraskar 2018 consists of a cash prize of Rs one lakh, shawl, memento and bouquet was given to Satyapal Maharaj at the hands of Banwarilal Purohit. Replying to his felicitation, Satyapal Maharaj said, “I am really overwhelmed with the love, compassion and gesture of Marwadi Foundation for selecting me for this prestigious award in memory of Prabodhankar Thackeray.
All my family members have gathered here to witness my felicitation. Poverty had taught me number of things in life. I was inspired by the work and life of Rashtra Sant Tukadoji Maharaj and Sant Gadge Baba and began to perform hymns and songs in the village at the age of thirteen. What I am today is because of these two great Saints.” Satyapal Maharaj stated that he would utilise the prize money for creating the facility of mobile mortuary in rural areas. After the declaration by Satyapal Maharaj, Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari announced to donate mobile mortuary to Satyapal Maharaj’s social activity. Nitin Gadkari stated, “Satyapal Maharaj has been constantly working for social reforms.
With his short stories, bhajans and khanjari, he is working on man making phenomenon. Character-building of an individual is the foundation of nation-building and Satyapal Maharaj has been bringing a total change in the society.” Ajay Sancheti stated that Satyapal Maharaj has been propagating values in society in the language easily understood by the villagers. Dr Girish Gandhi made introductory remarks. Dr Vandana Gandhi introduced Satyapal Maharaj. Satyanarayan Nuwal, Pravin Tapadiya, Atul Kotecha, Punamchand Malu and Mahesh Purohit welcomed the guests. Shweta Shelgaonkar conducted the proceedings while Sudhir Baheti proposed a vote of thanks.
