26 killed, over 300 hurt in PoK after earthquake jolts Pak

A POWERFUL 5.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and several cities in the north-eastern parts of the country on Tuesday, killing at least 26 people and wounding over 300 others. According to US Geological Survey, the epicentre of the quake was near New Mirpur in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which was severely affected by the quake.
 
The depth of the quake, which occurred at 4.02 pm (local time), was at 10 kilometres. According to the Home Department, 26 people were killed and over 300 injured in Mirpur and surrounding areas due to the powerful quake. Meanwhile, Minister for Science Fawad Chaudhry said that the intensity of the quake was 7.1. 
 
6.3 magnitude quake shakes India

A 6.3 MAGNITUDE earthquake with its epicentre in Pakistan shook several parts of north India, including the Delhi-NCR region, on Tuesday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said. There was no report of any loss of life or property following the quake, officials said.
