Public-oriented works may make Sameer victorious second time

The public-oriented works that were taken by MLA Sameer Meghe in Hingna will add one more seat to the kitty of Bharatiya Janata Party. When he won election for the first time in 2014, it was a surprise for everybody. But during last five years, Meghe kept himself low-profile, focussed on the constituency, brought funds, did lot of works which were not done by earlier representatives. His works attracted other party members of this constituency who started joining BJP. This constituency is one of those where Party is firm on repeating the existing candidate. In last election Party had replaced Vijay Ghodmare the winner of 2009 elections by Sameer Meghe. Now Ghodmare is likely to get ticket from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), though Ramesh Bang too has shown his willingness to contest from the same party. Till 2004 there was Kalmeshwar constituency in Nagpur district and Ramesh Bang was the winning candidate as an Independent.

There were four persons, close confidant of stalwart in Cooperative movement Babasaheb Kedar and Bang was among those four. Hingna constituency came into existence in 2009 replacing Kalmeshwar and Ghodmare won the election by a narrow margin of over 500 votes. Ghodmare got 65,039 while Bang could manage 64,339 votes. In 2004 also Bang had a narrow victory in Kalmeshwar as he had got tough fight from novice Sunita Gawande, the then President of Nagpur Zilla Parishad. In 2014 Sameer Meghe, son of former MP Datta Meghe stood in front of Bang, the fight was David verses Goliath and Sameer defeated Bang by a solid margin. Unlike most of the debutant, Meghe swung into action and started taking developmental works one by one. He never lost touch of his constituency. He had got sanctioned the work of worth over Rs 2,300 crore. He had noticed that Gram Panchayat may not be able to give justice to developmental works without able local self government. Accordingly he pursued with Government and Wanadongri and Butibori Municipal Councils were created.

He also resolved the water scarcity issues of Wadi, Bokhara, Lava, Suraburdi, Isasani, Takalghat, Nildoh, Digdoh. Butibori used to face traffic chaos and administration experienced morchas. He requested Union Minister Gadkari and got flyover there. Considering lack of health facility, Meghe brought 200-bedded ESIC hospital at Butibori. To streamline power supply in Hingna he pursued the issue with Chandrashekhar Bawankule and got sanctioned seven substations worth Rs 35 crore. Meghe conducted health camps through Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital of Wardha. He also took efforts to develop Fetri village that was adopted by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He also got sanctioned perspective plan of Rs 4.6 crore to develop Salaimendha as tourism spot. He also endeavored to get youngsters the good opportunities of employment so started mobile computer training centre of which 5,000 youths took benefit. With Ghodmare joining NCP and sought ticket from the party, there is a resentment in Bang camp. Though NCP is saying that Bang and Ghodmare would jointly fight the election against Meghe, fact is different. Bang too has met Jayant Patil, NCP State President and requested to repeat him from Hingna. Bang has confirmed it while talking to ‘The Hitavada’.
