TWO students were killed after their sports bike skidded and rammed into a divider at 5 no. stop under Habibganj police station area late in the night on Saturday. Investigation Officer SI Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that two youths were injured after their bike skidded and hit a road divider around 12:30 am on Sunday after which they were rushed to 1250 hospital where one of them was declared brought dead while another succumbed to the injuries 15 minutes after treatment. SI Chouhan said that the deceased have been identified as Ashutosh Atulkar (23), son of Panchiraj, a resident of Swadesh Nagar in Ashoka Garden whereas another deceased Ankur Soni (23), son of Swadesh, hails from same locality in Bhopal. Ashutosh had completed his graduation from B.Tech and his mother is a doctor and posted as CMO in Raisen, whereas Ankur had completed bachelor in management from Jagrah Lakecity University.
The incident took place when Ashutosh on his KMT sports bike was heading home along with his friend Ankur from Habibganj area when they met with an accident at 5 no stop. Ashutosh was riding the bike and was wearing helmet but it could not save his life while Ankur died of head injury. After preliminary investigation, the bodies were sent for post-mortem. Police have registered a case of accidental death and after post-mortem the bodies were handed over to the families.
Boy dead, parents injured: A 9-year-old boy was killed while his mother and father escaped with injuries after a speeding brand new SUV without a registration number collided with it head-on at Ayodhya Nagar bypass late in the night on Saturday. The impact of the collision proved fatal for the boy and his parents who were in a Maruti Omni (MP04CX2956) while the two who were driving the Hyundai Venue SUV and hit the van and fled the spot. After the accident, police and ambulance rushed to the spot and injured were taken to nearby hospital where the boy, Jalaj Umre, was declared dead, while his father Sanjay Umre and mother Leela Umre escaped with injuries.
The two remained unconscious till late in the evening on Sunday but doctors have claimed that their condition is stable. The body was sent for post-mortem after preliminary investigation. Police have registered a case under Section 304 A of the IPC and have started investigations to search the errant driver.
